Josh Elliott Reunites With Former GMA Colleague Sam Champion on May 2nd Live From The Kentucky Derby

On Friday, May 2nd, former “Good Morning America” colleagues Josh Elliott and Sam Champion will reunite for the first time live on air from The Kentucky Derby.  Josh, who recently joined NBC Sports, will join Sam at 9:00 AM ET from Churchill Downs live during The Weather Channel flagship morning show “AMHQ with Sam Champion” for a trip down memory lane and a discussion on Derby weather and cuisine. AMHQ will continue its minute-to-minute tornado coverage with Maria LaRosa reporting from Mayflower, AK, Mike Bettes in Moore, OK, and Anaridis Rodriguez at the Weather Channel headquarters in Atlanta

True to the network’s “It’s Amazing Out There” mantra, “AMHQ” has been out in the elements, covering cultural and social events at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and the New Orleans Jazz Festival, as well as breaking news in Moore, OK and Tupelo, MS as part of the network’s annual “Tornado Week.”  Future stops, including one in New York City, to be announced at a later date.
