Justin Michaels

National Correspondent

Justin Michaels joined The Weather Channel TV network, first as a freelance correspondent in March 2016, and most recently, as the network’s full time national correspondent in November 2021.


Justin started his broadcast career as an intern at WFLA NewsChannel 8 in Tampa, FL prior to his time as a reporter at KCBD NewsChannel 11 in Lubbock, TX where he spent two years before moving to Toledo, OH to work for WTOL News 11. While in Toledo, Justin served as the Wood County Bureau Chief and fill-in anchor. In 2010 Justin moved east along Lake Erie from Toledo, and began another career stop at WEWS NewsChannel 5 in Cleveland, OH as a reporter and fill-in anchor. In 2012 Justin landed in Boston working for New England Cable News (NECN). During that time Justin began to offer regular reports on The Weather Channel from weather events across New England in addition to his daily reporting and anchoring duties at NECN.  


Justin comes from, Carlisle, PA, a small Revolutionary and Civil War town in south central Pennsylvania, and earned his B.S. in Public Administration from Shippensburg University.

Today Justin calls Atlanta, GA home when he’s not traveling the country for The Weather Channel telling the people stories behind the weather.
