The network’s Immersive Mixed Reality (IMR) team earns Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards in the category.

The Weather Channel is proud to announce a complete sweep of the Art Direction & Design: Informational Graphics category at the 2025 GEMA Awards (formerly Promax). With wins across gold, silver, and bronze, the network again underscores its leadership in immersive visual storytelling.

This full podium finish reaffirms The Weather Channel’s ongoing dominance in this highly competitive category, marking yet another year of excellence for the network’s Immersive Mixed Reality (IMR) team.

Award Winners:

  • Gold Winner – Warming Waters (IMR): A visually arresting exploration of ocean-temperature rise, sea-level trends, and their impact on coastal communities, delivered through immersive mixed-reality environments.

  • Silver Winner – The Science Behind Turbulence (IMR): An ambitious design piece unpacking the physics of atmospheric turbulence in aviation and climate systems, brought to life with cutting-edge motion graphics and 3D visualization.

  • Bronze Winner – The Science Behind Flooding (IMR): A deep dive into hydrology, urban planning, and extreme rainfall—combining high-end motion design and immersive storytelling to convey urgency and impact.

For five consecutive years, The Weather Channel has dominated the Art Direction & Design: Informational Graphics category, reinforcing the network’s reputation for creative leadership in broadcast and digital weather visualization. This year’s recognition highlights the team’s ability to turn complex climate and weather science into compelling, visually rich narratives that both engage and inform audiences.
